Alumni Meet
Dear Sahyadrian,
Hi! First and foremost, thank you for registering on the Alumni portal. A warm welcome to you.
It's been quite a while since we left the hilltop. For some, it's been only a year or two, while for others, a decade has flown by. Yet, despite the different paths chosen by each of us, one thing will never change - Tiwai Hill will always be home. The thought of Asthachal, the silence bell, tricks to join the walking group and boiler Maggi will always bring a smile to our face. And it is these magical memories of our childhood that make us part of one big Sahyadrian family.
Over the years, alumni have contributed to the school in various ways. While some have conducted photography and creative writing workshops, others have shared their professional experiences with students and teachers. While such interactions are priceless contributions to the school, we felt that creating an Alumni Association would allow a more structured medium for the same. Furthermore, we hope that the Association will not only foster a stronger relationship between alumni and alma mater, but also facilitate interactions between the alumni themselves.
To get the ball rolling, we invite you to an open discussion at Sahyadri School at 11:00am on Sunday the 9th of March, 2014. We are looking for innovative ideas on how alumni can contribute to the school in a mutually beneficial and sustainable way. Additionally, we are also looking at ways in which alumni can benefit through mentoring, an enhanced professional network and other opportunities to learn from each other. We strongly believe that the best way ahead is to get everyone involved!
Over the past few weeks, we have received many suggestions about how we should plan out the 9th of March. After trying our best to incorporate everyone's ideas, we have come up with a schedule for the day -
11.00AM - Arrival of alumni and guests
11.15AM - Welcome address by school members
11.30AM - Exploring the relationship between alumni and school - Kedar Mavinkurve
11.45AM - Discussion on specific proposals
01.00PM - Lunch
02.00PM - Campus walk
03.00PM - Discussion on specific proposals continues (serve tea during the discussion)
04.00PM - Folk dance
04.45PM - Football match (mixed teams comprising alumni and students)
05:30PM - Departure
While we earnestly hope you can make it to the event, we understand that professional and personal commitments might not allow you to do so. In such cases, we request you to please send in your ideas and suggestions to alumni.sahyadrischool@gmail.com. Please be as descriptive as possible, so that we can pitch your ideas to everyone at school.
The school has been very helpful, cooperative and enthusiastic about this idea, and we sincerely thank them.
Since organizing such an event would require preparations at the school, we request you to please confirm your attendance with a Yes/No on this form: http://tinyurl.com/Sahyadrians-TheFirstSteps. Also, please feel free to pass this email to others in your batch.
Thank you once again for joining us on this journey! It is a pleasure to have you on board and we look forward to working with you on making this alumni association more than just fantastic!
Regards,
On behalf of the proposed Alumni Association
